FAQs - Course Funding - Springboard Courses in Galway

Our Springboard courses are proving very popular, but there are still places available, so please do get your application in as soon as possible. Before you do here are the most frequently asked questions about the funding rules for Springboard+ programmes.

Which Springboard+ programmes are fully funded for everyone?
All level 6 certificates and modules are FREE under the Springboard initiative.
At Galway Business School, the following level 6 programmes are available to you at no cost, subject to you being eligible (see Springboard+ Programme Eligibility FAQS).
Level 6 certificates which are fully funded:
Certificate in Business & Entrepreneurship
Certificate in Sales and Marketing
Certificate in Business Communications
Which Springboard+ programmes do you have to contribute towards?
If you are DEASP customer or Returner, all courses are completely free.
There is a 10% course fee contribution if you are employed, but this 10% fee is only payable for level 7, 8 and 9 courses. You pay this additional fee directly to Galway Business School as part of the application process (see Springboard course applications).
You usually have to pay your own travel costs however the courses offered by Galway Business School are all online providing a further saving.

Certificate in Strategic Management (Level 7)
Human Resource Management (Level 7)
Business Data Analysis (Level 7)
Innovation and New Enterprise Development (Level 8)
Global Digital Marketing (Level 8)

How much do I have to pay?
The most you will have to pay is 10% of the total cost of the Springboard+ programme. That means that even for the most expensive programme, the maximum contribution you’ll be asked to make is €87.10, and remember, that is only if you’re employed.
Will my Springboard+ programme still be fully funded if I was unemployed or a returner, and I get a job during the course?
It’s great news if you find work during your course. As long as you fulfilled the eligibility criteria at the start of the course, you will be able to continue studying on the course until you’ve finished. Since our Springboard courses are delivered online, we hope it will make it even easier for you to keep studying with us, even if you find work. (see Studying your Springboard course online).
