Before You Travel: Key Checklist

Make sure you’ve completed these essential steps before arriving in Ireland:

• Book your language programme with GBS (course and accommodation if required)
• Keep all booking confirmation documents accessible
• Arrange flights to and from Ireland
• Check your passport or national ID is valid
• Apply for a visa (if required)
• Organise health insurance or a health card
• Plan your journey to Galway from the airport

As a GBS student, you’ll have access to the GBS Student Portal from the start of your programme —your personal dashboard for managing your course and student life.

Through the portal, you can:

• View your programme details and schedule
• Access your digital student ID card
• Update your personal information (address, phone number, PPSN, IRP)
• Track your attendance
• Access Moodle, the school's e-learning platform
• Stay updated on social activities and events
