Your GBS Student Card

Every enrolled learner at Galway Business School receives a digital student ID card. Your card is your proof of student status at GBS, you will use it to access library and printing services on site, and you can show it as evidence of enrolment when you need to.

Accessing your card

Your card is available through the Student Portal. Once your enrolment is confirmed, you can log in to the portal, open your student card and save it to your phone's photos or screenshot it for quick access.

The card displays your name, your student number, your photograph, your programme and the current academic year. It is valid for the duration of your enrolment and is renewed automatically each academic year.

If the details on your card are incorrect, or if you are unable to access it, please contact the Office Manager.

Using your card at GBS

You will need your student card to:

  • Borrow books from the library
  • Use the printers and copiers on site
  • Identify yourself when collecting documents from the office

You can show your card on screen, a phone or tablet is fine.

Student discounts in Ireland

Many shops, cafés, cinemas and transport providers in Ireland offer discounts to students. The most widely recognised cards for this purpose are the ISIC card (International Student Identity Card) and Leap Card with student status for public transport.

Your GBS student card is accepted by many discount partners across Galway and Ireland. For nationally recognised discounts and international travel benefits, you may also wish to obtain an ISIC card, available at isic.ie.

Privacy

Your student card contains personal data, including your name and photograph. It is provided for use as student identification at GBS and with recognised discount partners. Please do not share screenshots of your card on social media or with people who do not need it. More information on how we handle your personal data is available in our Privacy Policy.
