Entry Requirements

At Galway Business School you have the choice of short business QQI certificate programmes - covering a wide range of subject areas including entrepreneurship, human resource management, business communications, sales and marketing and data analytics.

Our semester-long certificate programmes are accredited by QQI and on completion, you’ll receive a QQI Certificate at level 6 or 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications and the associated ECTS (European Credit Transfer Scheme).

Entry Requirements for Level 6 Certificates

The certificate programmes are direct entry programmes; you will be accepted onto the programme through a combination of secondary school results and experience.

Applicants are required to have a minimum of 5 passes in the Leaving Certificate or a High School Diploma equivalent.

Entry Requirements for Level 7 Certificates

Applicants are required to have a minimum of 5 passes in the Leaving Certificate or a High School Diploma equivalent.

To successfully pursue this module, an applicant would need some prior experience or knowledge in the particular field. 

For non-native speakers IELTS 6.0 or equivalent is necessary. For levels lower than 6.0 IELTS, 6-12 weeks minimum of English language exam preparation is mandatory in our language school Galway Cultural Institute.

English language requirements 

For non-native speakers IELTS 6.0 or equivalent is necessary. 

For levels lower than 6.0 IELTS, all international learners must complete a mandatory 4-week extensive pre-sessional business English course prior to the beginning of all Galway Business School academic programmes.
